More About Our Big Pine Dive Trips

Which Locations Will We Go To?

Our snorkel trips go to a number of different locations in Looe Key. We even have a few of our own “secret” locations that our captains have found over the years. The weather often dictates exactly which reef we will go see on any given day.

Is diving at Looe Key Safe?

Definitely! You’ll be accompanied on the trip by one of our captains and a mate. Both are certified in CPR should anything happen.

As for aquatic life, you’ll see all sorts of different, beautiful sea creatures!

Do trips visit Looe Key National Marine Sanctuary and the Adolphus Busch wreck?

Yes. Our reef trips dive Looe Key inside the Looe Key National Marine Sanctuary, a protected no-take zone with some of the densest coral and fish life in the Lower Keys. We also run wreck dives to the Adolphus Busch and night dives on select trips. For tips on planning your dive, read our Looe Key reef scuba diving tips.

Do you offer scuba certification courses?

Yes. We run SSI and SDI dive certification right here in the Florida Keys, with online coursework you can finish before you arrive and on-site training in the water. If you are not certified yet, you can still experience Looe Key on a Discover Scuba intro dive or by snorkeling. Learn more on our Florida Keys dive certification page.

What time are the dive trips?

Snorkel and dive trips depart every day at 8:30AM and 1:00PM.

Do I need any dive gear?

We offer equipment for rent for your dive trip, or you’re welcome to use your own gear.

Where do the Looe Key dive trips leave from?

All our Looe Key dive trips leave from our Big Pine Key dive center at 29675 Overseas Hwy, the closest departure point to the reef, which sits just offshore near Ramrod Key. Trips run twice daily at 8:30 AM and 1:00 PM as two-dive trips.
