At Capt. Hooks, we provide a complimentary divemaster with each dive trip. They know the reef and the local marine residents, and they can point out the highlights on our dives. Having a divemaster in the water has helped many of our divers that have not been diving in a while to reach a higher comfort level by knowing there is someone nearby who can help. The divemaster is only there if you want to use them as a guide, it is your choice, and many of our divers explore on their own with their dive buddy. Click the button below to book your trip.

We Offer Several Different Dive Options:

  • Night Dives

Captain Hook’s Marina and Dive Center earned another Certificate of Excellence in 2023 for our Florida Keys services. We work hard to provide the highest level of service possible, and we owe a great deal of thanks to our customers who make everything possible for us. As one of the best dive shops in Marathon, we’re proud to offer scuba diving & snorkeling trips twice per day and a variety of other services.

“Went scuba diving four times in two days, while brother was being certified right there and had a blast every time. Our dive masters, Lee and Skeeter were awesome guys and we had a ton of fun on the boat and in the water. They made sure everything was taken care of and was very helpful. Can’t wait to go back again and dive with them!”

Eric F.

“We have visited Captain Hooks multiple times when we come down to Marathon Key. These guys are a great group of individuals and very welcoming! The Scuba instructors (specifically Lee, Skeeter, and Eric) took us out to the reef and are a spectacular group of people. They are very nice and know how to make it worth the cost of going scuba diving or snorkeling. I will continue to come down and visit them time after time.”

Our snorkel trips go to a number of different locations in Looe Key. We even have a few of our own “secret” locations that our captains have found over the years.

The weather often dictates exactly which reef we will go see on any given day.

Is diving in Marathon Safe?

Of course! You’ll be accompanied on the trip by one of our captains and a mate. Both are certified in CPR should anything happen.

As for sea creatures, you’ll see all sorts of different, beautiful ocean life!

What time are the dive trips?

Snorkel and dive trips depart every day at 8:30AM and 1:00PM.

Do I need any dive gear?

We offer equipment for rent for your dive trip, or you’re welcome to use your own gear.
